Alba, Unkown origin, before 1846
The origin of ‘Mme Legras de St. Germain’ is uncertain. It is probably a hybrid alba, possibly with a noisette. She has dark blue-green leaves, white flowers and sweet fragrance. The flowers appear from slender buds with long pointed sepals and exhibit a mass of white flowers (often around a green button) which sits in loose clusters of three to nine on almost thornless branches. It is a fairly large, healthy and hardy shrub and a strong grower with stems to 2.5 meters. If supported she can reach 5 meters.
