Marie de Blois

The young shoots are well covered with reddish moss and bright green leaves. The light pink flowers, satined with lilac are made up of randomly formed clusters, heavily scented and produced freely each season. A handsome robust bush that deserves to be more popular.

Marie-Anne de Bourbon, “Mademoiselle de Blois”, (1666 – 1739), third of four illegitimate children of Louis XIV with Louise de la Vallière, was legitimized and given the title of Duchess of la Vallière. In 1860 she married Louis-Armand de Bourbon, Prince Conti.
